The Kingsley Board of Education will hold interviews for superintendent on Monday and Tuesday, August 14 and 15. The schedule for interviews is as follows:
All interviews are open to the public and will be held in the library at Kingsley High School, 7475 Kingsley Road, Kingsley, MI 49649. After each interview, the public will have the opportunity to provide written feedback to the board on the candidates.
One candidate previously scheduled for an interview withdrew his candidacy for the position over the weekend. In an email to Shawn Lewis-Lakin, a consultant from the Michigan Association of School Boards, Mr. Travis Walker stated that he was not ready to leave his current position and expressed gratitude to the Kingsley Board of Education for the invitation to interview.
“It is a wonderful school and a beautiful place to live and work and I'm confident that they will find a strong leader who will continue the great work they are doing.”
At the conclusion of the interviews on August 15, the board will determine which candidates to invite back for a second round of interviews scheduled for August 25.
The board is working to hire a new superintendent to begin work this fall.
