Two Candidates Selected for Superintendent Interviews

Two candidates have been selected by the Kingsley Area Schools Board of Education for second-round interviews for the position of Superintendent of Schools. The second-round interviews are scheduled for Friday, August 25, 2023.  The interviews are open to the public and will be held in the library at Kingsley High School, 7475 Kingsley Road, Kingsley, MI  49649.  Interview times and candidates are:

4:30PM Joshua Rothwell, M.A.: Superintendent of Forest Area Community Schools

6:00PM William (Bill) Chillman IV, Ed. S.: Superintendent of Beal City Public Schools

In addition to attending the interviews, the public is invited to attend an open house with the two finalists. Mr. Rothwell and Mr. Chilman will be at the high school from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m., in rooms 8 and 18, respectively.

Those attending the open house should use the main High School entrance.  This open house time provides the public with the opportunity to meet each candidate and briefly interact with them.  The public will have the opportunity to provide written feedback to the board after each interview as well as following the open house.

Community members interested in learning more about the finalists are encouraged to visit the Kingsley Area Schools website (Kingsleyschools.org).

In the Superintendent Search area on the Board of Education tab, the resumes and letters of interest submitted by the two finalists will be available for viewing. Click here to view.

After receiving application materials from twenty-five candidates, the Board held a first round of interviews on August 14th and 15th.    Following the open houses and second round interviews on August 25, the Board anticipates selecting one final candidate with whom to enter contract negotiations to be superintendent of Kingsley Area Schools.
