Meet Kingsley Schools’ Newest Teachers

By Heather Miller, Kingsley Middle School Principal

Meet our two new teachers! They will start in the district on Monday, January 23.

Leah Kitchin, Special Education

Welcome, Leah Kitchin!

Please join me in welcoming our new special education teacher, Leah Kitchin! We will be sharing Leah with the high school for the remainder of the school year. Leah will be teaching 6th grade special education. Leah will be "officially" starting with us on Monday!

Here's a little bit more about Leah:

1) What are you most looking forward to in your new position?

I am looking forward to building relationships with the students, having my own classroom, and working alongside teachers that I had growing up!

2) How would you describe your teaching style?

I would describe my teaching style as more laid-back, flexible, and organized. I always prioritize checking in with my students and making adjustments to my teaching whenever I notice that they need me to.

3) What is your favorite thing to do in your free time?

My favorite thing to do in my free time is spending time with my fiancé and friends, snuggling with my dogs, watching the sunset, and occasionally strumming the ukulele.

4) What would you sing at Karaoke night?

I would probably pick I Want it That Way by the Backstreet Boys for a karaoke song.5) If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?My favorite food is mac and cheese and I could eat it forever!!

6) What else would you like the staff to know about you?

I grew up in Kingsley & graduated in 2017, I love iced vanilla lattes, and I’m pretty good at Mario Kart! :)

Probably a Jimmy Buffet or folk rock song.
