The Kingsley Athletic Department would like to congratulate our Papano’s Student Athletes of the Week for the beginning of the spring season.
April 11, 2022: Hannah Grahn, Softball
Hannah is a junior on the varsity Stags softball team and was 3-5 with a sacrifice fly rbi in the season opening doubleheader versus St. Francis last week. Hannah also excels in basketball at Kingsley while carrying a 3.0 grade point average.
April 18, 2022: Sierra Billiau, Softball
Sierra is a junior who is dual-sporting for the varsity Stags softball and track teams this spring. Last Tuesday, she picked up a 7-6 win over Cadillac on the mound for Kingsley giving up 2 runs and 3 hits in 4 innings of work. On Wednesday she won the 400-meter dash and long jump for Kingsley at the Mancelona Invitational. Sierra also excels in volleyball and basketball at Kingsley while carrying a 3.78 grade point average.
April 25, 2022: Grant Kolbusz, Track & Field
Grant is a sophomore sprinter on the Kingsley varsity track team this spring. At the first Northwest Conference Quad last week he won the 400m dash with a time of 58.24 seconds, and was a member of the winning 4 by 400m Relay with a time of 4:00.97. Grant also excels in football and basketball at Kingsley while carrying a 3.48 grade point average.
May 2, 2022: Kelsie Saxton, Track & Field
Kelsey is a sophomore pole vaulter on the Kingsley varsity track team this spring. At the Reed City Invitational this past Saturday, she won the pole vault with a personal best – 9 foot, 5-inch vault. Kelsey also excels in cross country at Kingsley while carrying a 3.44 grade point average.
May 9, 2022: Riley Pierce, Baseball
Riley is a junior infielder on the Kingsley varsity baseball team this spring. Riley is currently hitting .529 with 3 doubles, 7 RBIs, and 5 runs scored for the Stags who are 4-0 in Northwest Conference play. Riley also excels in Hockey for the Bay Reps hockey co-op while carrying a 3.54 grade point average.
May 16, 2022: Claire Dutton, Girls’ Soccer
Claire is a junior goal keeper on the Kingsley varsity soccer team this spring. She had an excellent week for the Stags stopping 38 shots on goal versus Manistee and shutting out Mason County Central. Claire also excels in basketball at Kingsley while carrying a 3.92 grade point average. Congratulations to Claire Dutton, our Papano’s Student/Athlete of the week.
