The Kingsley Area Schools Board of Education has selected five candidates to interview for the position of Superintendent of Schools.
The board selected candidates to interview during a Board of Education meeting on Wednesday, August 2, 2023.
Interviews will be held on Monday and Tuesday, August 14 and 15. The schedule for interviews is as follows:
All interviews are open to the public and will be held in the library at Kingsley High School, 7475 Kingsley Road, Kingsley, MI 49649.
After each interview, the public will have the opportunity to provide written feedback to the board on the candidates.
The candidates who will interview were selected from twenty-five applicants for the position.
According to Shawn Lewis-Lakin, a consultant from the Michigan Association of School Boards, the pool of candidates for the Kingsley superintendent opening was exceptionally large and well-qualified, relative to other recent superintendent searches.
At the conclusion of the interviews on August 15, the board will determine which candidates to invite back for a second round of interviews scheduled for August 25.
The board is working to hire a new superintendent to begin work this fall.
