KMS Celebrates National Inclusion Week, Plans Activities Through Special Olympics School Program

ree

🫶 Kingsley Middle School is proud to be a Special Olympics Unified School. This week, students and staff are passing out pencils and positive messages in honor of National Inclusion Week!

🤸‍♀️ Throughout the year, special education and neurodivergent students in KMS' Peer to Peer program team up with their general ed classmates to learn and practice a sport.

🧡 KMS' chosen sport is Bocce: an activity that's inclusive and adaptable for all abilities!

💭 "This program is designed to support students in building friendships. They cultivate meaningful relationships through sports which creates an inclusive school climate," said coordinator Sheri Conner.

❄️ Students practice during the school day and indoor equipment is on its way so they can continue playing through the winter.

All students are welcome to join Peer to Peer! Contact Sheri Conner at sconner@northwested.com to learn more.
