The Kingsley Athletic Department would like to congratulate our Papano’s Student Athletes of the Week for the end of winter season.
February 21, 2022: Cylie Wooley, Wrestling
Cylie Wooley is a senior on the varsity Stags wrestling team. Cylie qualified for the first-ever all-girls Wrestling State Finals at Ford Field on March 5th by finishing 7th in the 190-pound weight class. Cylie has been a member of the wrestling team at Kingsley for 4 years and also participates in track & field at Kingsley while carrying a 3.5 grade point average.
February 28, 2022: Grace Lewis, Girls Basketball
Grace Lewis is a sophomore on the varsity Stags girls’ basketball team. In a Northwest Conference win over Leland, Grace led all scorers with 16 points, 4 steals, and four assists. Grace also excels in volleyball and softball at Kingsley while carrying a 3.98 grade point average, ranking 3rd in the sophomore class.
March 7, 2022: Aidan Shier, Wrestling
Aidan Shier is a senior on the varsity Stags wrestling team. At the MHSAA Individual State Finals, Aidan was the Division 3 runner-up in the 152-pound weight class. He finished his senior year with a 32-4 record and was a Mid-Michigan Conference champion, as well as a Division 3 District and Regional champion for the Stags. Aidan also excels at football and track field at Kingsley while carrying a 3.1 grade point average.
March 14, 2022: Gavyn Merchant, Wrestling
Gavyn Merchant is a sophomore on the varsity Stags wrestling team. At the MHSAA Individual State Finals, Gavyn was the Division 3 4th-place finisher in the 119-pound weight class. He finished the year with a 37-4 record and was a Division 3 District and Regional champion for the Stags. Gavyn also excels at football and baseball at Kingsley while carrying a 3.62 grade point average.
