Celebrating the 2025 KAS Retirees

Kingsley Area Schools would like to extend a heartfelt congratulations and thank you to our retiring staff members. Thank you for your years of service and dedication to our students! Read on to learn about their careers and plans for retirement.

Pam Clark - Transportation Director

Years in KAS: I started in 2006 and drove AM and PM routes and worked in the classrooms during the day. I filled in for the transportation director, and when he left, I was awarded the position.

Favorite memory: I enjoyed working in Mr. Joel Guy’s classroom. I still have some of those students reach out and let me know what they are doing and how they are doing.

Retirement plans: We plan to spend time at our cabin and some travel. And no alarm clock and no road checks next winter.

Parting words: Kingsley is very lucky to have a great group of drivers that don’t get recognized enough.

Sue Graham - High School Art Teacher

Years in KAS: My entire career has basically been in Kingsley, for a total of 30 years.

Favorite memory: I don’t have a specific favorite memory, but my favorite moments from year to year have been developing and working with The Friends of the Library to bring the KHS student art shows to the community at the Kingsley Public Library.

Retirement plans: We bought a “fixer upper” in Florida 40 minutes away from my daughter’s family. We plan to join the “snowbird club.” We also hope to do more traveling. As for art, I hope to continue to create my own art and possibly teach adults or teach art on a smaller scale to continue my love and passion.

Parting words: I have been so proud of my Kingsley art students and the students at Kingsley, in general. The staff that I have gotten to know over the years have become good friends of mine and they have been an asset to this community for so many years. Kingsley has been a great place to raise my family and as I move on to the next phase of my life, I will cherish these special memories.

Tim Scott - High School Teacher

Years in KAS: I have been teaching for 25 years, 22 of those at KHS.

Favorite memory: The scavenger hunts around the county that former principal Terry Street would send us on at the beginning of the school year to strengthen staff relationships and build community. He had us do some crazy things with the help of community businesses, ending up with a cookout at his house.

Retirement plans: Continue farming and growing produce to sell at area farmers markets. I may go back to environmental engineering as well. I'm also looking forward to spending more time with family and a lot more time in the great outdoors during the fall months.

Parting words:  I've been blessed to work with such wonderful people (yes, students included) over all these years. Kingsley Area Schools is a great school system and I'm glad I could be a part of it for so long. Go Stags!

Bob Shoaff - KMS Woodshop Teacher

Years in KAS: I have been teaching for 45 years! 37 of those years have been in Kingsley!

Favorite memory: All three of my children attended and graduated from Kingsley Schools so my

favorite memories are having each one of them as a student in science class which is what I taught back then, and then watching each one graduate from Kingsley school!

Retirement plans: I have seven grand children so visiting them and their families. They all still live around Michigan in different cities. We also plan on traveling and camping a lot. Plus, spending some time somewhere warm during the winter months!

Parting words: It has been and I consider it a great privilege to be a part of the Kingsley family/community for 37 years! Thank you for that opportunity!
